Shield Roofing Systems LLC
Limited Lifetime Workmanship Warranty
This warranty is applied to all residential roofing systems installed by Shield Roofing
Systems LLC and our subcontractors. By agreeing to our contract, you agree to all terms
and conditions expressed in this warranty.
Limited vs Unlimited Lifetime Warranty
It is important to understand the difference in warranty coverage between a Lifetime and Limited Lifetime Warranty. Below we will explain the difference and why Shield Roofing Systems LLC’s Workmanship Warranty is considered “limited” despite your roof being fully covered.
A warranty is considered limited by law if it does not meet all the below criteria as prescribed. Many company’s claim to have a “Lifetime” Warranty but in fact the warranty is limited. We want our clients to understand the difference and see that we are being honest in our pursuit to offer the best workmanship warranty on the market.
While we do technically have “limits” to our warranty, we believe that the manufacturer warranty in combination with our workmanship warranty will have you covered for as long as you own this roofing system.
If a company must answer “no” to any of these 5 questions below, they are in fact offering a limited warranty.
1. The Company will provide warranty service to anyone owning the product during the warranty
- While we do offer you, the purchaser, a lifetime workmanship warranty that covers our
installation, it is not currently transferable if you sell or transfer the home.
2. The Company provides warranty service free of charge.
- Shield Roofing will cover the cost of labor and material if your roofing system fails due to
improper installation as determined by Shield Roofing Systems LLC.
3. You will provide either a replacement or a full refund, at the consumer’s choice, if you can’t repair the product.
- If the product fails due to improper installation, Shield Roofing will repair the roofing
system through whichever means it determines appropriate. If the roofing system issue
is due to product failure, this is covered under the manufacturer warranty and Shield
Roofing Systems will stand by our client to get the issue resolved.
4. You will provide warranty service without requiring the consumer to return the warranty
- When you receive your Certificate of Completion from Shield Roofing, your warranty is
automatically registered with us and there is no need for further action.
5. You will not limit the duration of any implied warranty.
- Shield Roofing Systems Lifetime Workmanship Warranty covers the period of expected
life of your roof for installation defects.
All installations performed by Shield Roofing Systems are guaranteed to be installed per manufacture specifications and by the highest industry standards. The material is covered by the manufactures standard warranty and installation is covered by Shield Roofing’s industry leading Limited Lifetime Workmanship Warranty unless otherwise specified in the term of this contract.
What is covered?
The Lifetime Workmanship Warranty period offered from Shield Roofing Systems LLC is available to individual property owners from the date of installation. This warranty covers the roofing system for workmanship spanning the covered life of the system or change of ownership, whichever comes first. If for any reason there is an issue with the system due to improper installation of the product, or failure to meet the required codes/standards at the time of installation, Shield Roofing Systems LLC will correct the error including materials and labor at no cost to the property owner. In order to maintain the warranty for the life of the product, an annual inspection by Shield Roofing Systems LLC must be performed.
What is not covered?
This warranty does not cover issues related to manufacturer defects, accidents or events resulting from natural causes that could not have been prevented by reasonable foresight or care, work performed on or to the roof system by contractors not commissioned by Shield Roofing Systems, owner modifications or repairs, neglect or failure to perform regular maintenance and upkeep. This warranty does not apply
to products which may deteriorate more rapidly (ie. sealants) and should be inspected annually.
Shield Roofing Systems will make reasonable effort to repair the roofing system under this warranty but is not liable for items that are discontinued or obsolete. Every reasonable effort will be made to locate and install like products in the event a workmanship warranty issue, and the original product installed is no longer available.
