Recently I had an inspector come in and take a look at the entirety of our home as we are getting ready to sell. One of the things that was mentioned that we get fixed, was the boots on the roof. Apparently, based on this inspectors observation, they were “not level” and needed to be readjusted. I was recommended Josh with Shield Roofing & Construction for the job so I reached out to him. He was prompt to respond and offered to come and inspect the roof for free based on the report I shared with him from the inspector.

After Josh evaluated the roof, he explained in detail how the roof was perfectly fine. He explained that the way the boots were sitting, it could potentially look as if it was not built correctly to an inexperienced inspector that was less informed about roofing techniques. He then offered precautionary services and options I could pay for to be safe, but given his professional recommendation he made it clear they were not necessary. He even complimented the builder of my home on their workmanship of the roof.

He then provided me with a report that outlined all this in detail with pictures explaining this professionally and concisely. When asked what it would cost, he refused payment and simply said he was happy to give an honest assessment.

It’s hard to find honest business like this, and Josh is exactly that. I highly recommend him without reserve.

I had them do my 90 yo parent's new roof a couple weeks ago during all the rain *lol* bless their hearts.....I took bids from three vendors, these guys came in best bid, and their work was excellent, honest and they left it better than they found it. They arrived just a few hours after being contacted about a possible roof leak. After a thorough inspection, they identified the issue and had a solution. Like many, struck with an immediate need for roof leak repair. I had a leak from a vent flashing that became unsecured. I began calling roofing companies mostly suggested from the Nextdoor app. I made sure to let everyone know i was seeking estimates first. Josh with Shield Roofing was able to deliver the fix for a competitive price and same day service. Both he and the repair tech were pleasant to deal with. In addition they did a "well roof" check and secured numerous other flashing while at it at no extra cost. That alone took about 45 minutes which showed how seriously the tech took it. I will be using Josh to do "well roof" checks in the future. He suggested between 3 and 5 years; however, at about $300 I will go with sooner than later because it can avoid thousands of dollars in repairs. Thanks Josh for all your help!

I needed repairs to my roof within a certain time frame for insurance purposes. Both Josh & Kyle worked around their schedules and the rain to get my repairs done on time.
